This paper evaluates the effect of a paediatric tube feed containing a multifibre mixture in children using long-term enteral nutrition. The study was a randomised, controlled and double-blind cross-over trial. The authors conclude that children receiving enteral nutrition with a multifibre mixture containing prebiotic components could tolerate the feeding well, had increased bifidobacteria and lower stool pH, which are all signs of gut health.
