The future of allergy management: Targeting the gut with synbiotics.
Thursday May 10, Nutricia will host a Satellite Symposium. We are very honoured that prof. Hania Szajewska (P) will chair this symposium. Two renowned speakers in the field of allergy, dr. Mohamad Miqdady (UAE) and dr. Louise Michaelis (UK), will present on dysbiosis and immune development, including a promising approach for the dietary management of cow’s milk allergy with synbiotics.
In addition, Dr. Anneke Rijnierse from Danone Nutricia Research, will present clinical data on the reduction of allergy development in an at-risk population.
Prebiotics and postbiotics: Next generation in infant nutrition bringing immunity through gut.
During the Nutricia Satellite Symposium on the 2nd day of ESPGHAN, Friday the 11th, Prof. Yvan Vandenplas (B) will introduce the audience to a new concept combining prebiotics with postbiotics. Prof. Olivier Goulet (F) will elaborate on postbiotics in infant formulas, from his own experience. Two experts from Danone Nutricia Research, Dr. Bernd Stahl and Prof. Jan Knol, present on the miracle of human milk, our inspiration for this new concept. Furthermore, exciting new data from clinical trials on microbiota composition and fecal metabolites will be shared.
Throughout the whole conference, a total of 20 scientific abstracts from Danone Nutricia Research will be shared during oral and e-poster presentations as well as poster sessions. Click here for the full scientific program.

The 51st Annual Congress of ESPGHAN takes place from Wednesday 9 to Saturday 12 May 2018 in Geneva, Switzerland. During this year’s meeting ESPGHAN will celebrate it’s 50 years anniversary. The ESPGHAN conference aims to bring together key opinion leaders in the field of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition from Europe and all five continents, turning it into the largest conference of its kind worldwide. The meeting enables the exchange of (new) ideas and knowledge between different disciplines facilitating research and clinical interdisciplinary collaborations focusing on Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition.
